IIM Rohtak Inducts 11th PGP Batch

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Rohtak has inducted the 11th batch of its PGP (Post Graduate Programme). Students were inducted in an online induction and orientation programme which lasted for 2 days. The 11th batch was finally inducted on 19th January 2020 in a ceremony which was attended by Hon'ble. MP Shri Suresh Prabhu as Chief Guest. Many other dignitaries such a Mr Ajay Srinivasan, the Chief Executive of Aditya Birla Capital Ltd., Shri Madnesh Mishra, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, etc. were also present at the occasion.

IIM Rohtak the First IIM to Conduct Online Induction

IIM Rohtak has also become the first IIM to adapt an online induction and orientation process, which is a testimony to the latest IT infrastructure available at the institute. All of the students and guests were connected through an online platform and, according to the report released by the institute, the induction process went smoothly.

During the induction ceremony, the students of the 11th PGP batch were addressed by Shri Suresh Prabhu who focused on tackling an unknown challenge in light of the COVID-9 outbreak. Prof. Dheeraj Sharma, Director of IIM Rohtak, welcomed the batch and congratulated them while encouraging them to start their journeys on a positive note.

11th PGP Batch of IIM Rohtak Makes History with 69% Women Students

IIM Rohtak received 1,60,000 applications in 2020 out of which 8,000 students were shortlisted and finally, 240 were selected for the course. IIM Rohtak was one of the institutes that did not participate in the Common Admission Process (CAP) and chose to conduct its own admission process.

The 11th PGP Batch of IIM Rohtak comprises 69% female students, which is the highest that the institute has seen since its inception. The batch is quite diverse and has students from 24 states of India. A majority of the students are between 23 -25 years of age. 40% of the students inducted in the flagship course of the premier institute have work experience.

For ensuring a smooth learning experience for the students, the institute has taken steps such as dividing the batch into smaller groups and adding 25% extra time after each session for discussion and clearing doubts.
