The Indian Institute of Management Rohtak (IIM-R) offers post graduate programme in management - PGPM. The institute formally inaugurated in June 2009, is the 8th IIM to be set up by the HRD Ministry of India. Primary objective is to impart business knowledge disciplines with a unique cross-functional perspective. Aim of IIM-R is to be like the ancient Nalanda, and to develop students in a way that achieves parameters of global leadership, culture, universal processes, endowment, and worldwide branding. Functioning of IIM-R is temporarily conducting through help of newly constructed block of  Maharishi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak. The vision of the institute is to be a global leader in the creation and dissemination of management knowledge, and a global learning centre in due course of time. Mission of IIM-R is to develop leader managers with a sense of excellence, strong social commitment and a passion for value system. The pedagogy at IIM-Rohtak has been focusing on developing global managers who prove to be a right fit in the fast changing business environment, which is characterized by rising uncertainty, complexity and speed of socio-economic, technological, nature and political changes. The success of future managers will depend on their ability in responding quickly to uncertain situation, adaptiveness in dealing with complex and multicultural global environment and ability to innovative leverage the opportunities arising with advent of fast changing technologies.

The placement committee (PlaceCom) trains and formulates the process followed by both students and recruiters.
