Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode has announced admission for MBA in Liberal Studies And Management. Registration for the program will end on March 31, 2020.
IIMK or Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode has announced a new program, Masters in Business Administration in Liberal Studies and Management (MBA-LSM). According to a statement from the Institute, this IIMK initiative is the first offer by any IIM tha links liberal studies and management as a two-year full-time programme. The application process for the program will end on March 31, 2020.
MBA-LSM is a two-year master level program that offers in-depth coverage of different topics from core management principles and liberal studies in the first year. The course will also provide advance knowledge of the subject and electives in the second year.
The master level program also has a module on Rural and International immersion that the students need to engage in the second year. The Master's thesis in the second year is a special feature of the program. Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode will also offer placement assistance to students along with summer internship.

IIMK MBA LSM Eligibility Criteria 2020
- Applicants who are opting for this program must have a recognised post-graduate or bachelor degree in any discipline with at least 50% aggregate or equivalent CGPA.
- He or she must also have a valid scorecard of GRE or CAT or GMAT. The college will offer a relaxation of 5% in the minimum required percentage to the ST/SC or PWD candidates.
- IIMK also allows students who appeared for the final year of the bachelor degree or any equivalent degree to apply for admission. Also, those who have completed their degree and are waiting for the result may also apply for admission.
- Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode will select students for admission into MBA-LSM program on the basis of the three-stage selection process which consists of Stage-I(Online Application Filling), Stage-II(Candidates Shortlisting) and Stage-III(Personal Interview and Writing Ability Test).

Director of IIM Kozhikode, Prof Debashis Chatterjee said the main reason for adding this program is having an alternative form of management education. Dean (Academic Affairs and Development) of IIMK, Prof. Anandakuttan Unnithan said that this two-year master level MBA program is designed to equip and integrate students with some important skills to pursue careers in managerial roles in human resource management, media, healthcare, hospitality, marketing and social enterprise.
Chairperson of MBA-LSM, Prof. Deepa Sethi said the need to build an innovative, emotionally strong and culturally sensitive workforce in the times of Artificial Intelligence has inspired them to offer this program in Liberal Studies and Management.
