The Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar (IIT-BHU) is inviting applications for its new summer internship programme. Students who are registered with the government-funded technical institutes (GFTIs) can apply. Out of these, the candidates with a meritorious record will be selected after scrutiny of applications.
The IIT Bhubaneswar summer internship applications were launched on 6th March 2018. Interested applicants can apply latest by 5th April 2018. The summer internship of IIT BHU will be conducted for a duration of four weeks between 6th May 2018 and 16th July 2018.
Not only GFTI registered students, provisions for students who are referred by different academies can also apply for the internship programme. The internship is an opportunity for students to avail the short-term training courses at IIT. These training sessions will target subjects such as basic sciences, electrical sciences, humanities, social sciences and management, metallurgical and materials engineering, mechanical sciences, ocean and climate sciences etc.
Once a candidate is selected, he/she will have to submit a hard copy of his/her application form and assisting documents attested by them to the respective school of the institute. Shortlisted candidates will also be provided hostel accommodation on payment of fees. Food and amenities costs will have to be borne by each student separately.

On the successful completion of the internship, candidates will have to submit a project report after which a 'Training Completion Certificate' will be issued to each student. IIT Bhubaneswar will have no role in grading as the entire initiative is in its ambit.
