The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar has now started accepting the applications for its 'Start-Early' PhD Fellowship Programme 2019. The programme is open to the B.Tech students from IITs and NITs under which they will be offered a PhD Degree after B.Tech with generous financial aid.
The application process for the admission to the “Start Early PhD Fellowship” at the Indian Institut of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar has begun. The IITG 'Start Early' Ph.D Fellowship application forms are available in online mode.
The major objective of the fellowship programme is to allow undergraduate students from different disciplines to partake in the nation-building process through cutting-edge technological research. The “Start Early PhD Fellowship programme is a full-time residential programme. It has been designed to allow future engineers to take early admission to the PhD programmes at IIT Gandhinagar.

IIT Gandhinagar Start Early PhD Fellowship Eligibility Criteria 2019
The candidates who aspire to pursue the fellowship programme at the institute need to meet the IIT Gandhinagar Start Early PhD Fellowship eligibility criteria 2019. As per the guidelines of the programme, undergraduate or B.Tech students are eligible to apply for the programme.
B. Tech Students from the Class of 2020 from different IITs with a CGPA or CPI of 6.0 or more at the end of the third year of their programme are eligible for the fellowship.
B.Tech Students from NITs or colleges shortlisted by IIT Gandhinagar. Candidates can check the shortlisted colleges from the official website of the institute.
These are the basic eligibility criteria that are important for admission to the Start Early PhD Fellowship. The eligibility criteria for the programme does not require that they carry a valid GATE score. However, those candidates with a valid GATE score will be able to boost their chances of being shortlisted for the programme.
IIT Gandhinagar Start Early PhD Fellowship
The candidates who apply for the programme and get shortlisted for the programme will be offered monetary benefits to pursue their research work. Here are some of the benefits that the students will receive under the programme.
The candidates with a valid GATE score will be offered ₹41,000 per month meanwhile, those without a GATE score will be offered ₹31,000 per month.
Travel support will also be offered to the students to an amount of ₹2 lakhs for the purpose of attending international conferences.
Candidates who wish to undertake research at the leading international institutes or universities, for a period of 4 to 6 months will be offered $12,500.

The candidates who are interested in applying for the fellowship, the candidates will need to complete the IIT Gandhinagar Start Early PhD Fellowship application process.
Application forms will only be submitted in online mode.
Candidates will not be asked to pay an application fee.

After successful completion and submission of the form, a confirmation screen will appear with the link to download the submitted application form
Note:
Candidates are advised to take a printout of the application form and keep it safely with them prior to the admission processes. The candidates are not required to submit the application form at the Institute before the processes begin. However, at the time of the interview, they will be asked to submit the application form.
IIT Gandhinagar Start Early PhD Fellowship Admission Procedure
The IIT Gandhinagar Start Early PhD Fellowship admission procedure is done based on the performance of the candidates in an interview and a written test. The candidates who are shortlisted by the candidates will be called for the written test and the interview. The final selection process of the candidates will be based on their academic qualifications, performance in the written test and/or the interview.

The candidates who do not qualify the written test will not be called for the interview. The written test will include subjects such as logical reasoning, numerical and analytical ability. The institute will follow the reservation guidelines of the government. Therefore candidates belonging to the reservation category will be able to take admission based on the reservation category guidelines
There is a facility that will offer candidates with the option of Interviews being conducted over video conferencing. However, the facility will be offered to exceptional cases alone.
