There are a total of 23 IIT colleges in India that offer B.Tech & M.Tech courses through JEE Advanced and GATE. IITs are considered as top engineering institutes in India and admission to UG courses will be done through JoSAA counselling 2019.

Indian Institutes of Technology, popularly known as IITs are the most prestigious and top engineering institutes in the country. They are the autonomous institutes for higher education in the technical field and are most popular for the B.Tech courses that IITs offer. At present, there are 23 IITs in India which are governed by the Institute of Technology Act, 1961 - a common IT council.

For admission in IITs, candidates have to appear in IIT entrance exam in two levels - Joint Entrance Exam: JEE Main and JEE Advanced. It is mandatory to qualify in both the exams to compete for seats and specialisation preferences which is conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). List of IIT Colleges in India

A total of 23 IITs in the country offer a variety of courses ranging from the B.Tech level to the Doctoral programmes. While admission to B.Tech courses is based on JEE exam, admission to the M.Tech programmes is on the basis of the GATE exam.
