Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati is inviting the school students of North Eastern (NE) states to the upcoming two-week residential central ‘Ishan Vikas’ programme. The scheme is open for Class IX & XI science stream students. The programme will take place from November 30 to December 22, 2016.

IIT Guwahati is the coordinating institute for this programme. The scheme is an initiative taken by Union Ministry of Human Resource and Development.
The main motive of this programme is to introduce school children of NE states to the best institutions of higher education in the country. The scheme also focuses on motivating the students to pursue engineering, science and mathematics.

Under this scheme, the students from NE states will be sponsored for a two-week visit to some premier institutions like IITs and IISERs. The selected students and the accompanying teachers will be provided air travel, food and lodging during the period of the visit.
