Spring Fest is an annual and cultural festival of IIT-Kharagpur. The primary objective of the fest is to provide a platform to budding artists excelling in various fields such as dance, music, fine arts, photography, theatre, literature, debating and quizzing. Students from all over India will take part in the competitions. It is an opportunity for the students to deviate from their routine life and embrace fun and frolic.

Spring Fest was held for the first time in the year 1960, and it is one of the oldest college fests in India. Initially, it was conceived as a platform for the students of IIT-K to showcase their talent and academic skills.

The fest had begun to attract the nearby colleges of West Bengal over the years. For the past decade, the IIT-K has been inviting all the colleges across India.

The tagline for Spring Fest 2017 is ‘The True Spirit of Youth’. Various companies and organisations are sponsoring the fest including CISCO, Hero, Maruti Suzuki, CocoCola, Tata Motors, State Bank of India, Spice Jet, Reliance Mutual Fund, Institute of Management Technology, Nagpur, ITC Limited, Allahabad Bank, Punjab National Bank, askme.com, Nestle Kitkat and others.

Cool, interesting and funny. An ardent lover of animals and gets a kick out of Chetan Bhagat and Amish Tripathi novels. My favourite novel is 'The God of Small Things' written by Arundathi Roy.
