IIT Madras Phase 1 Placements Report 2023-24IIT Madras Phase 1 Placements Report 2023-24: The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras has concluded the Phase 1 placement in December 2023. Despite having plenty of challenges including the aftereffect of the Michaung cyclone in Tamil Nadu, the Institute has witnessed a record number of offers via the Phase 1 placements. As per the statistics, approximately 50% of the institute's students already have been recruited.
Comparing the previous years’ data, this year, the percentage of being hired in the core sector has significantly increased. Also, the percentage of being recruited by international companies for postgraduate students has increased.
- The median salary offered by the organizations is over 19 lakh
- More than 55% of the recruited students belong to the socially and economically backward classes
- Also, there is a 19% increase in the internship offers
