Indian Institute of Technology, Patna has announced an official admission notification to Ph.D. programme for the academic session July 2017. The institute offers the Ph.D. programme in 10 research areas to both non-sponsored and sponsored candidates. The candidates with an external fellowship from funding agencies that are recognised by the government of India can also apply for the Ph.D. programme. Financial Assistance: -
The institute offers financial assistance for: -
- Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)
- Senior Research Fellowship (SRF)
Eligibility to JRF: -
- The candidates must have a Post Graduate or PG degree in Basic Sciences or Graduate or Post Graduate degree in a professional course.
- The applicants must have a valid NET or GATE score.
- The selected candidates will get a monthly emolument of Rs. 25,000.
Eligibility to SRF: -
- Mandatory JRF qualification with the research experience of two years.
- The selected candidates will get a monthly emolument of Rs. 28,000.

Application Process: -
- Only the official website of IIT Patna facilitates online submission of application forms for the Ph.D. course.
- Initial registration on the official website is mandatory to fill online application.
- Use the login credentials, which were created during the registration process to fill the online application.
- After submitting the application, pay the application fee.
- Application fee for female/ SC/ ST candidates is Rs. 150.
- The application fee for OBC/ General category is Rs. 300.
- Applicants have to pay the application fee online.
- The candidates have to send e-fee payment receipt, print out of application form and other relevant documents to the prescribed address by post.
Important Date: -
- April 6, 2017, is the deadline to submit online applications.
