The Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) is likely to start a programme on Corporate Social Responsibility training soon. The premier business school is considered among the top management colleges in India and is a leading institute with respect to the specialisation of rural management. It is expected that IRMA will introduce the Corporate Social Responsibility training programme, which is abbreviated as the CSR programme, by the next academic session in order to make effective use of funds for yielding better results at the grassroots level.
The Director of IRMA, Hitesh Bhatt, spoke about the development and said that a huge sum of money gets wasted in the name of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as not many people have a proper understanding of how to use the money effectively. Bhatt said that for the majority of the people, it is only about making huge donations to meet government compliance.
About CSR Programmes at IRMA
Two programmes on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) will be offered at IRMA. One of the programmes will be a certificate course for those candidates who are managing the operations of CSR at the organisations they are working in. The duration of this programme will be for six months. The second CSR course offered by IRMA will be an executive programme and its duration will be eleven months.
IRMA CSR Programmes Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for both the courses of CSR at IRMA will be slightly different from each other. Candidates who have work experience of at least five years in the social enterprise sector will be considered eligible for the executive programme of Corporate Social Responsibility. The intake capacity for both the programmes will be of 30 students maximum. Hitesh Bhatt said that the aim of these programmes is to teach the interested candidates about designing CSR projects and it will also train them about how to implement those projects properly.
At present, the Institute of Rural Management Anand offers management programmes under four categories. These categories are Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management (PGDRM), Management Development Programme (MDP), Fellow Programme in Rural Management (FPRM), and Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Management - Rural (PGDMX - R). It gives a degree of Master of Business Administration (MBA) to its students once they have completed their respective courses.
