ISM Dhanbadwill support the one and only state-run institute in Jharkhand, BIT-Sindri for upgrading the qualifications of it's 84 newly inducted teachers. ISM Dhanbad’s support will also help the institution attain autonomy in future.
Director of BIT-Sindri, Mr. Dharmendra Kumar Singh revealed that 72 contractual teachers are recruited under a World Bank project and 12 teachers were appointed through Jharkhand Public Service Commission in several phases in January 2018. These teachers can enrol themselves for the part-time Ph.D course with ISM Dhanbad. The institute is aiming to ensure that all the 160 faculty members of BIT-Sindri hold Ph.D degrees with ISM Dhanbad. The joint research projects between students and teachers of the two institutions will begin soon, he added.

BIT-Sindri is being mentored by ISM Dhanbad under TEQUIP (Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme) of World Bank.
Last year, ISM Dhanbad and BIT-Sindri signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate and student and faculty exchange programmes, sharing of resources, cooperative activities and holding joint conferences and seminars.

Director of BIT-Sindri indicated that both the institutes are planning to organise joint conferences and seminars on a wide range of issues soon. Organising conferences and seminars will play a dominant role in enriching the knowledge of teachers and students of both institutes. As per the MoU, BIT-Sindri faculty can access the central library at ISM Dhanbad to enrich their knowledge.
