This year, JEE Advanced 2017 examination witnessed numerous absentees. According to sources, there were 1,078 absentees in IIT Kanpur zone. IIT Kanpur zone covers ten cities across the three states that include Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Among the 10 cities, a total number of 172 students from Lucknow did not appear for the examination. Lucknow recorded the highest number of absentees this year.
There were ten examination centres for JEE Advanced 2017 in Lucknow. A total number of 3,766 candidates registered for the JEE Advanced 2017 examination from Lucknow. Indore also witnessed a total number of 170 absentees this year. A total number of 3,863 students registered to appear for the examination here.

On the other hand, Varanasi stood in the third place in terms of the number of absentees. A total number of 162 candidates from Varanasi did not turn up for the examination. There were nine examination centres in Varanasi, and a total number of 3,660 candidates registered for the examination.
Among the other examination centres, Jhansi recorded only 25 absentees out of 792 registered candidates. Similarly, there were 97 absentees in Kanpur out of 3,567 registered candidates. There were ten examination centres in Kanpur, and two in Jhansi.

There were five examination centres in Allahabad, and a total number of 1,702 candidates registered for the examination. Out of them, 85 students did not turn up to write the examination. Other cities like Jabalpur and Bhopal also witnessed more than 100 absentees for this prestigious examination.
A total number of 153 candidates registered for JEE Advanced 2017 in Dubai under IIT Kanpur zone. Out of them, 122 candidates took the examination, and 31 students were absent.
JEE Advanced 2017 results will be out on June 11, 2017.
