Reputed corporate companies, Vijayawada International call center, Nikon and Microsoft conducted a mega job fair at Government Degree College, Avanigadda, Krishna District on 13-April-2016. The mega job fair has been conducted for Intermediate, UG and PG pass outs of academic years 2013 to 2016. The final year students also attended the interviews. Separate rooms were allotted for interviews based upon the qualification. The Job fair commenced at 10.00 AM.
The job fair evoked a good response as a total number of 143 candidates from neighboring colleges attended the event. Three rounds of interview were conducted. A preliminary written test was conducted and later technical round and it was followed by face to face interview.
The candidates who attended the interviews said, “It’s really great that reputed software companies came for the job fair. Avanigadda is a rural area where there is a number of unemployed youth. The government college of Avanigadda has brought these companies for placements not only for host college students but also for the students of neighboring colleges."
Convener of mega Job fair, Dr.Remala Srinivasa Rao, said, “The companies are offering a monthly salary of Rs.10,000 to 15,000 for the selected candidates. It’s really a great thing that the job fair has been receiving a good response”.
