Madhukar Kamath, who has been serving as the director of MICA Ahmedabad from March 2016, will step down from the institute in the first week of April. He will be replaced by Tridip Suhrud, Director of Sabarmati Ashram Preservation & Memorial Trust, who will take charge as the Acting Director as part of a ‘planned transition’ of its leadership.
According to a press release sent to media on Thursday, February 9, 2017, the President of MICA, Madhukar Kamath, has announced a planned transition in the leadership of Ahmedabad-based MICA. He will step down from the post of president of MICA after the convocation of MICA in the first week of April.
MICA Governing Council has appointed one of its members and Director of Sabarmati Ashram Preservation and Memorial Trust, Ahmedabad, Dr. Tridip Suhrud as the Acting Director of MICA to help the present president in the transition process. Appointment of Dr. Tridip Suhrud is being done in a non-remunerative capacity. The Governing Council MICA will shortly be announcing the next President of the Institute.
Sources close to the development reveal that this move was in line with a number of ‘structural changes’ at Mudra Foundation. The foundation had set up MICA in 1991, currently being headed by Tina Ambani. While Suhrud will serve the institute for 3-4 months. The institute will reveal the name of its new director shortly.
The new director is expected to take charge in June 2017 from among two short-listed candidates. MICA is one of the leading residential institutes in Asia Pacific region and in India. It educates leaders in the domain of strategic marketing and communication.
