Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad, popular known as MICA, conducted the 4th ICMC ie the International Communication Management Conference recently. At the conference, a collaboration was initiated between MICA and University of Southern California’s Annenberg School of Communication & Journalism.

Dr. Ernest J. Wilson III, the Dean of the School, was the keynote speaker at the event. An alumnus of University of South California and Harvard University, he has experience in both public and private sectors, as well as advising President Barack Obama’s team on matters of public diplomacy and communication technology in the past. Additionally, he has served as a major consultant to:
- International agencies like United Nations and World Bank
- Capitol Hill
- White House National Security Council
- Chaired the Corporation for Public Broadcasting
- Involvement in research centres & academic departments on prime institutions of higher education

Addressing the gathering of students and faculty members at MICA Ahmedabad, he focused on the theme titled ‘Third Space - The Passion & Power of Transformational and Soft Skills for Global Citizens & Professionals’.
Dean of MICA, Dr. Preeti Shroff revealed that the institute is more than honoured to welcome leader and academician Dr. Wilson at ICMC 2017. While speaking about the partnership between the two institutes, she said that the objective of this is to encourage students exchange programs, research activities, developing new teaching methodologies and taking up industry immersion projects.
Apart from that, she thanked MICA’s Governing Council member, Dr. Anantha Babbili from Texas A&M University, who had been extremely helpful in initiating the global partnership between the two institutes.
