The popularity of Mumbai college canteens on the rise with the inception of unique recipes and change in décor. Muskan Arora, a first-year student at Jai Hind College, Churchgate, says that the college canteen is the best place to relax and enjoy the food.

The unique food also lures a lot of students with snacks like olive-and-herb sandwiches, ‘Unjunk Bhel’ — which is a fusion of vegetables and the traditional 'bhel' components.
Canteens are trying to adopt the youthful spirit of students and changing their ambiance. South Indian Education Society (SIES), Nerul, has its walls filled with doodles, popular quotes that have been painted by the college’s students and is open to students who wish to contribute to the wall.
