CTET & TET Extension till Class 12th: As per the latest notification released by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) & Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) will be conducted for all levels of school education. TET and CTET exam conduction has been extended till class 12th under the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Along with this, the NCTE will also be constituting a new committee that will be responsible for the development of Guidelines and Test Structures or Components for the TET and CTET exam extension.

As mentioned in the letter by Union Ministry Education dated October 23, 2020, this committee will be constituted under Task no. 145. Some of the major responsibilities shared by the newly constituted committee will be to analyze the data related to the conduct of TET/CTET by States/UTs & CBSE, Candidates-wise & Question-wise data for psychometric analysis, implementation of TET guidelines issued by the NCTE, and difficulties faced by the organizations in conducting the TET or CTET exam. The committee is required to submit the complete recommendations and guidelines after a thorough analysis.
The main aim of extending the conduction of the TET and CTET exam till 12th is to provide passionate, professionally trained, and highly qualified teachers to all the students. The TET and CTET exams have also been extended to meet the NEP 2020.
