NEET PG 2023: Gap between exam date and internship deadline increased, will exam be postponed?

NEET PG 2023: Candidates registered for NEET PG 2023 shall note that the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has extended the internship deadline to August 11, 2023. Candidates now whose internships will be completed by August will be eligible to appear for the exams. The NBE is expected to open the registrations shortly for the candidates who will be eligible now to appear for the exams. Approximately 13,000 aspirants will be eligible to appear for the NEET PG 2023 exams scheduled on March 5, 2023, as per the extended internship deadline.

Candidates are now expecting the exam dates to be postponed as the internship deadline is extended. There is no confirmation on the same yet, by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. With the extension of the internship deadline, the gap between the exam date and the internship date has increased. Only after the completion of the internship dates, the Medical Counselling Committee will be able to conduct the NEET PG 2023 counselling process.

On February 7th, 2023, the NEET PG 2023 aspirants protested at Jantar Mantar for two agendas: extension of the internship dates and postponement of the NEET PG 2023 Exam Date until May 2023. The MoHFW has accepted the first plea and aspirants are now expecting the exam dates to be postponed as well. As per the Minister of the MoHFW, the ministry had already considered the extension of internship dates as it was a question of 13,000 aspirants, but the exam dates postponement is not considered yet. 

Although, with the extension of the internship dates now, it makes sense to postpone the examination by 6-8 weeks. Aspirants are still trying and requesting the postponement of NEET PG 2023 by approaching various authorities to support them. However, the final decision is awaited by the MoHFW on the postponement of the NEET PG 2023 Exam Date. Aspirants are advised to check the official website for any such announcement.
