Union Minister of State for AYUSH, Mr. Shripad Yesso Naik confirmed that all the states across the country will consider NEET score for the admission to UG AYUSH course. A few months back, the ministry stated that NEET will be mandatory for the admission to AYUSH courses. However, a few states opposed the decision of the central government and approached courts seeking an exemption. The courses did not accept the pleas of states and ordered admission to AYUSH courses on the basis of NEET.

In February 2018, the Ministry of AYUSH directed all the states to give a wider publicity on the mandatory rule.
At present, no state is against the decision of central government. The Ministry of AYUSH has been taking several measures to improve quality of education with an aim to attract more students for AYUSH courses. NEET is significant to ensure the quality of students even at the entry level.
At present, there are over 36,000 seats in UG AYUSH courses across the country. NEET exam is scheduled to be conducted on May 06, 2018.

On the other hand, the online registration process for AIAPGET 2018 for the admission to PG AYUSH courses is underway. May 04, 2018, is the last date to submit the application form for AIAPGET. The entrance test will take place on June 24, 2018.
