The entrance test for Lucknow University's undergraduate courses will have negative marking. This was decided at the meeting of the admission committee on Tuesday . LU has re-introduced entrance test for UG courses after a gap of 16 years.The test paper will have 100 multiple choice questions in OMR format.
According to LU admission coordinator Anil Mishra, ''the test paper will have 100 multiple choice questions in OMR format. Candidates will get 90 minutes to answer the questions. The test will be held from May 30 to June 3, depending on different dates for different streams. Each question will be of four marks while one mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer''. He also added that there will be a common entrance test for BA and BA (Hons). “Students will be allowed to opt for either BA (Hons) or regular BA during counselling.
This year merit list will be on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance test by the candidates. In case of a tie between two candidates, marks secured in high school or any equivalent exam will be considered. If the marks in such an examination are the same, the older candidate will be given priority.
No marks will be awarded or deducted for unanswered questions. The questions will be based on class 12 syllabus.
