There was also a change in the B.Des NIFT exam pattern with 40 questions in the Communication Ability and English Comprehension as compared to the previous year's pattern which had 25 questions each. The General Knowledge & Current Affairs also had an increased number of questions (25) as compared to the previous year's question paper which had 15 questions. There were no changes in the M.Des NIFT exam pattern.

MDes: The overall difficulty level of the NIFT GAT exam 2024 for MDes was moderate to difficult, most questions were tricky yet doable. MDes: The overall difficulty level of the NIFT CAT exam 2024 for MDes was relatively easy compared to the previous year where some questions were unexpected but easily doable. The questions asked were about providing the creative uses of a given object, the usage of a broken teacup, and so on.
