In the Lok Sabha, HRD minister Smriti Irani said “the NITI Aayog has opined a roadmap that would involve
- Raising educational standards
- Attracting investment
- Leveraging India's soft power
- Strengthening regulation
She also said that the UGC has proposed fresh regulation for promotion and maintenance of standards of academic collaboration between Indian and Foreign Educational Institutions with a view to streamlining its regulations in the matter. During the consultation process of the New Education Policy, states were requested to give their views on various themes, one of which is ‘Internationalisation of Education’”.
The HRD ministry on 14th March’16 i.e. Monday mentioned the roadmap suggested by NITI aayog which involves a four fold effort on the issue of allowing foreign Universities to set up their campuses in the country.
