NLIU Bhopal Wins Amity Moot Court Competition

The National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal wins Amity International Moot Competition organized by Amity Law School Noida, its first E-MOOT in India at Amity Campus, sector 125 Noida.

The team bested a total of 38 teams who participated in the competition across the globe such as Dr. Ambedkar College, Dept. of Law, Nagpur; Nepal Law Campus, Kathmandu, Nepal; Army Institute of Law, Mohali; Nalsar University of law, Hyderabad; Symbiosis Law School, Pune; Vivekananda Law School, Delhi; Amity Law School, Noida; NMIMS, Mumbai and Sri Lanka law College, Colombo amongst others.

During the competition, Army Institute of Law Mohali; Rajiv Gandhi National Law University, Patiala; Hidyatullah National university of Law (HNLU), Raipur and National Law Institute University, Bhopal contested for semifinals. The rounds witnessed the knowledge of budding lawyers with Army Institute of Law Mohali and National Law Institute University, Bhopal vying in finals.

Presenting superlative legal skills, Vikram Amrawanshi, The National Law Institute University, Bhopal bagged the award for “Best Researcher”; the award for “Best Counsel” was presented to Ms. Sneha Poddar– University School of Law & Legal Studies, GGSIPU, Delhi and National Law University, Cuttack, Odisha won the trophy of “Best Memorial”. The team of Army Institute of Law, Mohali was the first Runner Up.

The valediction ceremony witnessed the presence of Hon’ble Justice Rajeev Bhalla, Mr. Siddharth Luthra, Sr. Advocate, Hon’ble Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva, Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Group; Maj. Gen. Nilendra Kumar, Director, Amity Law School Noida and Dr. Shefali Raizada, Dy. Director, Amity Law School, Noida.

During his speech, Hon’ble Justice Rajeev Bhalla said, “right to freedom of Speech and Expression is under attack and there is an urgent need for an exceptional dose of tolerance, which law colleges are required to teach to the budding professionals.”

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ashok K Chauhan said, “Today is an historic day as Amity in sync with e-governance has organized the first e-moot in India to take the country forward.”
