NTA IND SAT 2020 - Exam Date, Pattern, Syllabus, Sample Papers, Scholarship

IND SAT 2020 which was supposed to be held on May 30 by NTA across 15 is now being held on July 22, 2020. The first-ever IND SAT 2020 is being conducted in countries such as Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan etc in the online mode.

IND SAT 2020 Exam

Study in India - TheGovernment of India launched SII (Study in India) initiative through which students from various neighbouring countries can pursue higher education in India. An entrance exam will be conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency) for admission in Indian higher learning institutes, and foreign students who wish to take admission in India with the scholarship will have to clear the IND-SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test). Meritorious students from African and Asian countries clearing IND-SAT shall be awarded the scholarship. Through this scheme, India is aiming to attract the best brains.

Nirmala Sitharaman, the Union Finance Minister had introduced the IND-SAT exam on February 1, 2020, in her budget speech. The first edition of IND-SAT was supposed to be conducted by NTA on May 30, 2020, but due to COVID-19, the exam has been postponed and the exam is being conducted on July 22, 2020. This is the first time that the HRD ministry will be conducting such a test and that too online. The entrance exam cum scholastic aptitude test will be conducted in 13 countries such as -

Zambia

Kenya

Sri Lanka

Rwanda

Tanzania

Uganda

Bhutan

Bangladesh

Ethiopia

Nepal

India

The government’s target is to conduct the entrance exam across 40 countries. However, in the first edition, only 13 nations shall be considered for conducting the entrance exam due to logistical and socio-political limitations. IND-SAT will be conducted across other countries in future.

IND-SAT Exam Pattern & Sample Papers

IND-SAT will majorly assess students in English Language Skills, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude. The duration of the exam is 90 minutes, and the mode of exam is CBT. The detailed exam pattern for IND SAT 2020 is as follows -

There is no negative marking in IND SAT 2020.

IND SAT Scholarship Scheme 2020

The total number of sanctioned scholarships is 2,000 for the year 2020, and an additional grant of 700 scholarships shall be done this year. Out of 2,000 scholarships, 80% of them shall be applicable to UG students while 20% of scholarships will be provided to PG students.
