NTPC and IIM Ahmedabad Partner to Offer MBA in Energy Management
  • A leader in the power sector, NTPC has collaborated with IIM Ahmedabad to offer specialised course in MBA Energy Management.
  • The initial partnership will last for about five years and produce efficient energy management graduates.

NTPC and IIM Ahmedabad have announced a joint initiative to work towards preparing efficient management graduates with a focus on the Energy sector. With the help of IIM Ahmedabad, one of the top business schools in the country, NTPC School of Business (NSB) will offer two-year MBA course in Energy Management. Specialists and experienced faculty of IIM Ahmedabad will guide NSB in framing the course curriculum.

Strategic Management Professor and HRM Chair at IIM Ahmedabad, Mr. Sunil Kumar Maheshwari revealed that the premier management institute, for the first time, has collaborated with a leading business school to offer specialised courses. IIM-A has partnered with NSB for a period of five years under which IIM Ahmedabad has the responsibility to provide top-class faculty at NSB and offer a varied range of specialised electives for various aspects pertaining to power and energy sectors, he added.

HR Director of Maharatna PSU (Public Sector Undertaking), Mr. Saptarshi Roy revealed that the budget of NTPC for learning and development has witnessed a significant growth this year. Apart from bringing in professionals from the parent organisation, IIM Ahmedabad will gradually foster its own faculty at NSB within five years, he highlighted.

Head of NSB Power Management Institute and NSB Noida, Mr. AK Bhatnagar indicated that NSB campus is bestowed with all the infrastructural facilities and resources that are necessary to launch MBA degree with a specialisation in Energy sector. Additionally, NSB will also provide residential facility to students. For the first year of MBA course in Energy Sector, NSB is planning to enroll 120 students, he revealed.
