Oxford University emerged as the world’s best university in THE World University Rankings for the third time. Oxford is always successful in attracting the best and brightest students and faculty from all over the world.
THE World University Rankings 2019, which was released recently, featured some of the top higher learning institutes in the world. Among them, Oxford University dominated the rankings and emerged as the world’s best university for the third time consecutively. Oxford is the only UK University to top the international rankings and sustains its position quality teaching, innovation, and outstanding research output.
THE World University Rankings 2019 was released at the World Academic Summit that was held in Singapore last week. Times Higher Education (THE) has assessed almost 1,258 universities across the world, including 98 varsities from the United Kingdom. The exception international focus of Oxford University is one of the major reasons for its dominance in international rankings.

Chief Knowledge Officer of THE, Mr. Phil Baty revealed that Oxford is always successful in attracting the best and brightest students and faculty from all over the world. Apart from excellent research initiatives and output, Oxford has been evincing remarkable performance in teaching. The campus of Oxford University comprises talented individuals, which is a major advantage for any higher learning institute worldwide, he added.
THE is the only ranking authority in the world that assesses universities for all activities such as research, citations, teaching, international outlook and industry collaboration.
In May 2018, Oxford University announced a 50 per cent expansion of its UNIQ Summer School. Every year, this will enable at least extra 500 pupils from underprivileged background gain admission in UG courses offered by Oxford University.

Vice-Chancellor of Oxford University, Professor Louise Richardson expressed his happiness over the performance of Oxford and other European universities in global rankings. Oxford University will take steps to deepen its cooperation with colleagues abroad, he highlighted.
