Pandu College Guwahati Organizes Quiz Competition
Pandu College Guwahati organised an inter-college Prize Money Quiz Competition under the aegis of Pandu College History Association on Tuesday, March 22 at 10 am at the college auditorium. The competition witnessed participation from students of different colleges in the city. Quiz Master Sandipan Pathak conducted the quiz. Many faculty members from different colleges also attended the function.
Pandu College, Guwahati is a premier educational institution of Assam. The college believes in imparting life-oriented and value based education- an education aimed at strengthening the body purifying the mind and sharpening the intellect. It is so oriented as to help the learners to get exposed to the scientific and technological advancement as well as the economic scenario of the country and the world at large. The students of Pandu College are acquainted with the history and culture of the human civilization while remaining at the same time, regardful of the culture and tradition of their own native land with which they are so inseparably linked.
The Pandu College History Organisation was formed in 2004 and since then, it has been organising seminars, popular talks, educational tours to places of historical significance etc. The prizes in the quiz competition were distributed in the memory of Late Md Motiur Rahman, Retired District Judge.
The teams that qualified in the preliminary round were Cotton College, Pandu College, Gauhati Medical College and Hindu College, Delhi. Among the winners were Cotton College Guwahati which won the first and the third prize; and Gauhati Medical College which won the second prize.
The function was presided over by Jayashree Barua, Principal, Pandu College. The welcome address was given by Dr. Navaneeta Baruah, Convenor and the vote of thanks by Dr. Shirin Banu, HoD History and working President of the quiz committee.
