ANU Launches Certificate Courses in Physical Education
The Physical Education Department of Acharya Nagarjuna University in collaboration with Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports launched various certificate courses in sports for a period of 25 days. On this occasion, the department conducted inaugural session and launched the courses in a grand manner. The Chief Guest of the inaugural session was Vice Chancellor of ANU, Acharya Rajendra Prasad. He was welcomed in a grand manner by the Director of Physical Education Department, Mr. Johnson.
Addressing the gathering, Vice Chancellor said, “Training in various sports is very much essential for the physical development of an individual. Sports not only develop physical fitness but also give mental strength. Sports play an important role in the daily activities of person. One must take active part in outdoor games for good health. These training for these courses will be given for a period of 25 days and certificates will be awarded to the participants after the completion of course”.
Following courses are launched:
- Certificate Course in Basket ball
- Volley Ball
- Kho-Kho and
- Weight Lifting (Six Weeks)
Director of Physical Education department said, “The Vice Chancellor has granted permission immediately for the courses. The University is supporting various sports activities”. He thanked the Vice chancellor for being supportive.
Inaugural session was attended by the Director of Yoga Center, D. Suryanarayana, trainers and trainees.
