Revise UGC NET 2021 Result: Students Demand an Increase in Qualifying Candidates to 12%

Revise UGC NET 2021 Result

On February 19, 2022, after a long wait, the National Test Agency finally declared the UGC NET 2021 result on the official website. The exam of UGC NET was conducted for 18 days in 35 distinct shifts between November 20, 2021, to January 5, 2022. This was a merged cycle of UGC NET December 2022 and June 2021 exam as the June cycle was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. More than 12 lakhs candidates registered for this exam out of which 6,71,288 appeared and 52,857 qualified for JRF and assistant professor. 

As per the University Grants Commission(UGC) policy, only 6% of those candidates who appear in both the papers and obtain the minimum qualifying marks in total of both the papers are declared as NET qualified.

This exam is conducted twice a year by UGC but this year they merged the two cycles. As per the UGC NET 2021 result declaration notice, “The slots of JRFs of both the cycles have been merged, while the procedure for subject-wise cum category-wise allotment of JRFs remains unchanged.”

Meanwhile, students who gave the UGC NET Exam are demanding to qualify 12% of candidates who appeared in the exam because if the examination conducting body merge 2 sessions of the exam as per its convenience then they should qualify 12% of candidates also.

Students are protesting and have flooded social media with their demands to revise the UGC NET 2022 result declared by the National Testing Agency.
