The establishment of IIIT Secretariat at IIIT Gwalior is also one among the key decisions taken by the ministry. All these decisions were taken on 14-July-2016 by HRD Minister, Javadekar in IIIT Council meet.
The IIITs which are working under PPP will be applying for the status of deemed university. The curriculum of IIITs will be based on the emerging changes and trends in Information Technology.
The IIITs were set up when Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the prime minister of India. The IIITs played an important role in bringing drastic changes in the IT sector. India has also become software giant.
