Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) department of technology is beginning four new UG B.Tech courses from the next academic year.
The university’s technology department already conducts M.Tech and Ph.D. courses, and after getting permission from the state and central authorities, the courses will begin from 2020-21. The department of technology will introduce four new B.Tech courses. For that, AICTE has already given the permission and they are awaiting other approvals.
It will take a few months to complete the permission process, and the new courses would most likely begin from 2020-21, as stated by Dr. Aditya Abhyankar, SPPU’s dean faculty of the technology department. As it will take a few months to complete the permission process, the new courses would probably start from the next academic year 2020-21,” said Dr. Aditya Abhyankar, dean faculty of the technology department, SPPU.
The technology department has industry-university sponsored M.Tech-Ph.D integrated courses. Four technology boards have been set up under ‘Faculty of Technology’ such as Chemical and Biotechnology (CB), Electrical and Electronics Technology (EE), Computer and Information Technology (CI), and Mechanical and Materials Technology (MM).
Those students who are planning to opt for B.Tech courses from the city are happy with the university’s decision. A class 12 student said he will be appearing for his class 12 exams next year and then he will plan to join SPPU’s B.Tech course in electrical and electronics technology as SPPU is one of the best in India. The introduction of B.Tech courses at the varsity will be helpful for students.
