Students Await Supreme Court's Decision on NEET 2016

The Maharashtra government has decided to postpone the NEET Examination till 2018 as it wants to continue with the present state entrance examination to reduce the burden from the students.

The date for the Medical-CET for the state of Maharashtra is declared to be held on May 5, 2016. However, the SC's has not come up with a final decision regarding the elimination of NEET yet.

The NEET controversy:

Recently a petition from an NGO quoted the wrong doings of private medical institutes by taking separate entrance examinations. Regarding the same, the Supreme Court worked on regulating and bringing back NEET for students once again.

This decision of the supreme court was accepted by many and the examination's first phase took place on May 1, 2016.

After the first phase of examinations, the ones who were opposing the NEET came into the picture.

The issue that came above all was that the students were informed only on a short notice about the final decision of NEET this year and preparing for the exam would’ve been difficult for the students at such short notice.

More about NEET 2016:

  • The result date for NEET 2016: August 17, 2016
  • The dates for second phase of NEET: July 24, 2016
  • Dates for final result for NEET 2016: around September 30, 2016
