Here's a good news for the students pursuing different courses at the University of Mumbai. According to the official information disclosed by BoE (Board of Examination), students will get the opportunity to check their marks on the official website of Mumbai University as soon as the results are declared. BoE has taken a final decision in this regard. The marks scored by the students will be uploaded and published on results portal the day they are announced.
So far, students could only know whether they have passed or failed in the exam through the results portal of Mumbai University. Students used to rush to the varsity or affiliated colleges to find out the marks scored in different subjects. Acting Director of BoE, Mr. Arjun Ghatule revealed that the new system would be beneficial to students and it will come into effect from the next semester.
The authorities of Mumbai University have been taking extensive steps to regulate delay and problems in declaring results. Therefore, BoE has been formulating various reforms for smooth conduct of assessment and evaluation process. BoE has improved the infrastructure associated with evaluation and prepared a master database of examinations, courses, subjects, assessors and credits. As per the latest development, the linkages have been streamlined.
According to the master database, over 14,000 teachers and principals will assess the answer books of winter exams, which are going to commence from November 8, 2017. According to sources, over 4.81 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the exams. The varsity will continue with ‘On Screen Assessment’ for assessing the answer sheets of students.
With an objective to address issues faced during the evaluation process, the University of Mumbai has set up 282 Central Assessment Process (CAP) centres. The answer sheets of all the exams will reach the CAP within three days and the same will be scanned on the fifth day. These answer sheets will be checked and counted in three stages. This is being done to avoid problems relating to missing or untraceable answer sheets.
