The Cheif Minister termed the event as historic. The centre will spend around 60 percent expenditure and the state will contribute around 40 percent of the cost. The construction of these medical colleges will be finished within 18 months time. This is after 45 years that new medical colleges are coming up in the region because of the initiative of the central government. These areas are among the backward regions of the country.

In his address, Das said that even after several decades of independence, patients from these regions still have to move to Ranchi for treatment. With facilities coming up in the region itself, they will be able to receive better treatment in their own district.

The Cheif Minister further stated that the state government is committed to improving the health service in the state and for that, the government has already provided 329 ambulances to different panchayats in the state.
