‘Digital Initiatives in Higher Education’ and ‘Measures for Improving Research Productivity in Universities’ are the major agendas of the VCs meet. An extensive discussion will take place on these issues, and the government will take steps for promoting digital initiatives in higher education.

Imparting vocational skills to students in higher learning institutes, improving the quality of education and adopting best practices in education are also among the agendas of the national-level VCs meet.

The national-level meeting is an excellent platform for exchanging ideas on key academic issues. The detailed agenda of the meeting will be communicated to all the VCs and participants soon. Meanwhile, UGC has also invited suggestions from the participants of the national-level meeting about the issues of national importance which must be discussed during the meeting.

Indian universities will soon make an impact in global rankings. With the UGC granting IoE status to over 52 universities across the country, the scope for offering international exposure to students will be high. The top autonomy institutes have already initiated the process to hire foreign faculty and attract more international students. India should also emerge as one of the hubs for pursuing higher studies for international students.
