Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Union Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, announced that the ministry would grant funds to all the states for the development of skills along with education. He also assured that the affiliation would be granted for the establishment of new ITIs in West Bengal and appreciated the efforts of Mamata Banerjee government for initiating new ITIs. He mentioned that the Directorate General of Training (DGT) would grant affiliation to the new ITIs.

Mr. Rudy said that the skill eco-system of the country has become redundant for a while now. It has been slowly losing its worth in the past 65 years. It is high time to take steps for the development of skills among the youth. For this purpose, a sum of Rs. 32,000 crore will be allocated by the Ministry in collaboration with World Bank, Apprentice Yojana and Prime Minister Kaushal Vikas Yojana.
He also mentioned that the ministry would support Mamata Banerjee government in West Bengal, which has consistently been working on the development of skills. He announced that the ITIs would be moved from Labour Ministry to Skills Development Ministry.

The government is making efforts to develop the standard of education with the help of education ministry and HRD Ministry, and now steps are being carried out for the development of skills through a separate ministry. The skill training will be imparted to the students of Classes 6 to 12.
