UP Board Takes the Help of Google and Releases Exam Schedule for 2020 Before Time

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, which is commonly known as UP Board, has released the UP Board class 12th examination schedule of 2020 and also the UP Board class 10th schedule of 2020 on the first working day on which schools re-opened after summer vacations. The Board has not done something like this in its 98 years of existence.

Dinesh Sharma, who is the Deputy Chief Minister and also the Secondary Education Minister of Uttar Pradesh, announced the examination schedule in the state capital and said that the exams will begin from 18th February 2020 next year.

This was possible because of the prudence and future planning of the officials of the Uttar Pradesh Board who were assisted by Google, the popular global search engine. Usually, the exam schedule is finalised after the State government releases the list of annual holidays and the board sets dates for exams accordingly. However, to declare the exam time-table of 2019-2020 on 1st July 2019 itself, the board officials had to be blind towards the list of holidays of the next year.

Hence, they decided to take the help of Google in order to zero in on the holidays next year and then come up with the time table, as told by Neena Srivastava, the UP Board Secretary. She said that the guidance of Google helped the officials in ensuring gaps in the exam schedule of high school and intermediate both. In this way, no exam will be scheduled on a day on which a holiday is observed by the State government.

Neena Srivastava also said that this time the UP Board will conduct the high school board examinations for four new vocational subjects- Security, Retail Trade, Automobile, and Information Technology. The exams of these subjects are to be held on 3rd March 2019.

In an attempt to declare the board results quicker, the Board has limited the total evaluation process of answer sheets to 10 days now instead of 15 days that were taken earlier. The evaluation process is expected to be held from 15th March 2020 to 25th March 2020 due to which, the conduction of Board exams will be done by 6th March 2020. This will allow the UP Board to release the results of 2020 within a period of 45 days, that is by 25th April 2020.
