To tighten up the security measures at the VTU (Visvesvaraya Technological University), the university is changing its methods. In the process to make the question paper delivery system of the university more secure, VTU is now planning to deliver its question papers via a VPN (Virtual Private Network).
The Visvesvaraya Technological University has also asked the colleges affiliated by it to dedicate separate smart mobile phones, computer system, and CCTV cameras to ensure the safe delivery of its question papers.
Although the colleges affiliated by Visvesvaraya Technological University are finding it difficult to shoulder the expenses of the increased security measures, the State Department of Technical Education has offered its hands to bear the cost. This decision was taken after an engineering college (Govt.) in Kushalnagar, Karnataka wrote a letter addressing the Director of State Technical Education. The letter mentioned the financial demands of the college to buy networking facilities, computers, smartphones, etc. It also requested the State Department to provide them with a total of Rs. 1,50,000 for the same purpose.
The request was soon agreed, which was followed by the department asking all govt. Engineering colleges of the state of Karnataka to follow the same procedure to increase the security measures. While talking about the procedure, an official from the State Department of Technical Education said that the Visvesvaraya Technological University is religiously following this procedure to take care of the security and safety of the transportation of its question papers.
The colleges are expected to set up all the security facilities by mid-October. Once, it is done, each college will send a report to the university before the examination for the upcoming semesters. For more such content, stay tuned to CollegeDekho.
