Who is Eligible for NEET UG 2023?

NEET UG Eligibility Criteria 2023

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will very soon release the NEET UG 2023 exam date, tentatively by the first week of December, 2022 in online mode. To apply for the NEET UG exam 2023, the candidates should meet the eligibility criteria. The authority will release the eligibility criteria for 2023 along with the official notification soon at the official website, neet.nta.ac.in. Before that, the candidates can refer to the previous year’s eligibility criteria before applying for the exam. 

NEET UG Eligibility Criteria 2023

The eligibility criteria of NEET UG 2023 depends on several factors, such as nationality, age limit, qualifying exam, required percentile etc. Check out the category wise eligibility criteria of NEET UG 2023 here in the following section-

Qualifying Exam

  • Candidates should pass the 10+2 or equivalent with the Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and/ or English as the core subjects from a recognized board
  • The candidates, who have been completed Class 12 or equivalent exam (appearing candidates), are eligible to apply for NEET

Age Limit

Candidates, who have completed 17 years as on December 31, 2023.

Kindly note, there will be no upper age limit and hence, anybody can apply for the entrance test.

Qualifying Marks

To apply for the NEET UG exam, the candidates should consider the aggregate marks only for the PCB subjects

  • UR: 50%
  • SC/ST/OBC: 40%
  • PWD: 45%
  • PWD- SC/ST/OBC: 40%

Maximum Number of Attempts

There will be no maximum restrictions of applying for the NEET UG exam

Nationality

  • The candidates, who are Indians, can apply for the NEET UG 2023 exam
  • NRIs, PIOs, OCIs and Foreign Nationals candidates are eligible to apply for the NEET UG exam 2023
  • Under 15% AIQ, the medical candidates from Jammu and Kashmir can apply for NEET 2023 exam. The criteria will be applicable also for the AFMC and Pune
