UGC NET May 2021 Postponed, New Exam Date to be Out Soon

UGC NET May 2021, which is scheduled to be conducted from May 02 to 17 has been postponed, and the new exam date will be announced soon. With the rise in the number of Covid-19 cases in India, there have been requests from students to postpone the exam. On the other hand, almost 8 lakh candidates appear for UGC NET, and with the current situation in India conducting the exam may not be the best option, as per experts. NTA has issued a notification on the postponement of the exam.

The admit card has also been delayed. The last edition of UGC NET was conducted in November 2020.

This year, NTA has to conduct the UGC NET exam thrice as the December 2020 exam is being conducted in May 2021. In 2020, the June 2020 exam was postponed due to Covid-19, and the same was conducted in November 2020. UGC NET June/July 2021 and December 2021 are scheduled to be conducted, and NTA may wrap up the process this year only if the situation turns normal in the country.

Students are advised to not believe any rumours about the new exam date of UGC NET May 2021, and the best option is to wait for the official press note of NTA. Meanwhile, students can continue with their preparation.
