Wipro to Offer Santoor Scholarships to Girls in Three States

One of India's most reputed companies, Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting has decided to offer scholarships to girls from economically weaker families who are willing to pursue UG courses. The company will offer scholarships to girls in three Southern states such as Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Wipro will provide 900 scholarships in these states and the name of the scheme is ‘Santoor Women’s Scholarship’. Economically backward girls who are willing to pursue UG courses will get Rs. 24,000 per annum for three years. Santoor is the leading brand of Wipro, and the scholarship scheme is named after Santoor, popular toilet soap in India.

Wipro initiated ‘Santoor Women’s Scholarship’ in 2016 to support underprivileged economically backward girls for completing UG education. The scholarship offered by the company will meet the cost of tuition fee and expenses incidental to education. In the last two years, Wipro had provided scholarships to 1,800 girls approximately.

Girls who have graduated Class 12 and belong to underprivileged and economically backward classes are eligible to apply for Santoor Women’s Scholarship. However, the aspirants will have to join a UG course in a recognised degree college to avail the scholarship. Interested girls can visit the official website of santoor scholarships to register for the scheme. September 15, 2018 is the last date to register for the scholarship scheme.

Girls from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are only eligible to register for santoor scholarship scheme. Main preference will be given to girls from backward districts in these three states.
