What’s new at Karnataka State Law University?

Karnataka State Law University admission 2023 has started and the last date to apply for admission is March 14, 2023. The commencement of classes for the odd semester will begin on March 15, 2023. 

The Karnataka State Law University was founded in January 2009 by the Karnataka State Law University Act, 2009. Karnataka State Law University is Asia's largest affiliating law university, with 109 affiliated law colleges spread across the whole state of Karnataka. The university has a total strength of 26,000 students studying on KSLU campus. The university is also operating its own law school at the main campus in Hubballi. 

Located in Navanagar, in Hubballi, the Karnataka State Law University campus is built across an area of 55 acres. The Karnataka State Law University facilities include art classrooms, an auditorium, a pariksha bhavan (examination block), a guest house, a boy's hostel, a girl's hostel, officer’s residences, a sports ground, etc. 

KSLU offers various undergraduate and postgraduate courses in law, such as BA LLB, BBA LLB, BSc LLB, LLM, Ph.D., and diploma courses. Apart from academic programmes, KSLU also organises various extracurricular activities and events such as moot court competitions, seminars, workshops, and conferences, to provide students with practical exposure to the legal field and enhance their knowledge and skills. The Karnataka State Law University is accredited with 'A' Grade by NAAC and is recognised with UGC. KSLU has also been recognised by the Bar Council of India (BCI). 

As per the reports of Karnataka State Law University placements, a total of 36 students were placed through campus placements in UG courses at an average salary package of Rs. 450000. On the other hand, a total of 28 students were placed through the KSLU campus placements in UG courses at an average salary package of Rs. 600000.

Karnataka State Law University LLB Eligibility Criteria 2023

• Candidates must have graduated in any stream from a recognised institution.
• Candidates must be or be less than thirty years in the case of the general category of applicants and thirty-five years in the case of applicants from SC, ST, and other backward communities as on 1st June. 
• Candidate must have secured marks, which shall not be below 45% (44.5% and above shall be treated as 45%) of total marks in case of general category applicants and 40% of total marks in case of SC and ST applicants. 

Karnataka State Law University BA LLB Eligibility Criteria 2023

• Candidates should have successfully completed a pre-university course or senior secondary school course ('+2') or equivalent such as (11+1, 'A' level in senior school leaving certificate course) from a recognised institute. 
• Applicants who have obtained +2 higher secondary pass certificate or first-degree certificate in distance or correspondence method shall also be considered eligible for admission to the course. 
• Applicants who have obtained 10+2 or graduation or post-graduation through the open universities system directly without having any basic qualifications are not eligible for admission to the course. 
• Candidates must be or be less than twenty years in the case of general category of applicants and less than 22 years in the case of applicants from SC, ST, and other backward communities as of 1st June. 
• Candidate must have secured marks, which shall not be below 45% (44.5% and above shall be treated as 45%) of total marks in qualifying examination, in case of general category applicants and 40% (39.5% and above shall be treated as 40%) of total marks in case of SC and ST applicants.

• Aspirants for BBA LLB must have completed a pre-university course or senior secondary school course ('+2') or equivalent such as (11+1, 'A' level in senior school leaving certificate course) from a recognised institute.

• An applicant who has graduated in law from a recognised institute may apply for an LL.M. degree course. 
• The minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination shall not be below 45% of total marks in the case of general category applicants and 40% of total marks in the case of SC and ST applicants.

Karnataka State Law University prescribes the admission process for each course. The selection of the candidates for admission to each course is done on the basis of merit obtained by the candidates in the qualifying exam. There is no entrance exam required for Karnataka State Law University admission. Candidates who fulfill all the eligibility requirements for the respective course can apply for KSLU admission.

Karnataka State Law University provides various facilities to the enrolled students. The library at KSLU is equipped with journals, magazines, newspapers, and full-text online databases.
