Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, also known as RUAS or Ramaiah University, was founded in 2013. It brought together the M S Ramaiah College of Hotel Management (1993), M S Ramaiah College of Pharmacy (1992), M S Ramaiah Dental College (1991), the M S School of Advanced Studies (1999), and the M S Ramaiah Advanced Learning Centre (2012). UGC (University Grant Commission) has recognised Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences and is a member of AIU RUAS. The university has a big campus of 60 acres which consists of a playing ground, gymnasium, library, student and teacher parking, and many more. 

Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences courses offer streams in Hospitality Management, Art and Design, Life and Allied Health Sciences, Management and Commerce, Engineering and Technology, Dental Sciences, Pharmacy, and Catering Technology, Mathematical & Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, and Law. The RUAS cut-off is determined based on various factors such as the number of applicants, the difficulty level of the entrance exam, and the availability of seats. RUAS conducts its own entrance exam called the Ramaiah University Engineering Entrance Test (REAP) for admission to its engineering programmes. The cut-off for REAP is generally around 50-60% for general category candidates, while it may be lower for reserved category candidates.
