15-Year-Old Boy from UP Cracks JEE Advanced 2017, Dreams to Launch Robotics Start-up

Usually, most students appear for Class 10 examinations at the age of 15. However, a boy from Uttar Pradesh appeared for JEE Advanced 2017 examination and secured AIR 2467. Abhay Agarwal from Firozabad faced many challenges and finally secured admission to B.Tech Mechanical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT-BHU). With an objective to clear JEE Advanced 2017 examination, he sought admission in a coaching institute. Despite being discouraged by some people, Abhay Agarwal took it as a challenge and cleared the national level engineering entrance exam.

Vice Chairman of IIT-JEE Kanpur Zone, Prof. Shalabh revealed that Abhay Agarwal is the youngest candidate to clear JEE Advanced examination this year. The officials were surprised when they verified the documents of Abhay. His Class 10 mark sheet confirmed his age as 15. He was born on November 9, 2002.

Even though Abhay secured admission in IIT-BHU, he opted for ‘Float’ option, as he is aiming for Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (IIT Roorkee).

Giving details about his school education, Abhay Agarwal revealed that he jumped initial classes, and completed his Class 12 before other students.

Abhay’s performance in Class 10 & Class 12 was also outstanding. He scored 85.63% in Class 10 & 85.2 percent in Class 12. His ultimate aim is to launch his own start-up that deals in products related to robotics.

Abhay’s father works as a pump attendant at Firozabad Nagar Nigam. He was very happy with the performance of his son in academics. Abhay was away from social media to concentrate on studies. Even though he has a Facebook account, he discontinued using it when he entered Class 11.
