AMU: Entire Batch of M.Sc Biotechnology Students Qualify GATE 2018
- The entire batch of the final-year M.Sc. Biotechnology at AMU has qualified the GATE 2018 exam.
- Nine students from the Geology department of AMU have also qualified the GATE exam this year.
Apart from featuring in thelist of institutes that have been granted greater autonomy, AMU has achieved another milestone. The entire final-year batch of M.Sc. Biotechnology at theAligarh Muslim University (AMU)has cracked theGATE 2018 exam. The result of GATE exam were released on March 16, whereas, the scorecards were released on March 21, 2018.
There are a total of 14 students in thefinal-year M.Sc. Biotechnologybatch atAMUand all of them cleared the GATE exam. According to the statement released by AMU, three of these students secures ranks in the top 30 students throughout India, while the remaining 11 have secured ranks in the top 200 students.

Coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Biotechnology Unit, Prof Asad Ullah Khan, congratulated the students ofBiotechnologyfor qualifying GATE 2018. He further said that faculty members have provided the students with necessarytrainingandcounselling.
Other than these 14 students from M.Sc. Biotechnology batch, there are other students who cleared GATE. Nine students from theDepartment of Geologyat AMU have also cleared the GATE 2018, the university added.

Qualifying GATE is important in order to secure seats or get financial aid for master’s and doctoral level programmes in Engineering, Architecture or Technology or Science.Public Sector Undertakings(PSUs) also shortlist students for jobs on the basis of GATE examscore.
