CBSE to Introduce Open Computer Labs for JEE-Advanced Candidates in Schools
- CBSE has asked around 18,000 schools affiliated with it to allow IIT aspirants to use their computer laboratories from this academic year.
- It is for the first time IIT board has decided to organize the JEE-Advanced test in online mode.
Central Board of Secondary Education-CBSE has decided to allow theIITaspirants to sit for mockJEE-Advancedtests with computers available atCBSE affiliated schoolso that the candidates are familiar with the online examination and its pattern.
In the effort to makeIITaspirants familiar with the online exam pattern,CBSEhas asked around 18,000 schools affiliated with it to allow IIT aspirants to use their computer laboratories from this academic year. However, the board also said that the facility may be extended to students who are qualified to writeJEE-Advancedexaminations only.

The admission board of the IITs had decided to organize the JEE- Advanced test inonline modefrom this academic year. The first mock test forJEE aspirantswill take place from 1 May and 5 May 2018 as notified byIIT-Kanpur.
This exam is one of the most popular and challengingengineering entrance examsof the country and is conducted in two parts i.e. JEE-Main andJEE-Advanced.Various centrally funded technical institutes and NITs spread across the country provide admission to the students on the basis of their performance inJEE-Main.

The Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct theJEE-Mainin pen and paper mode on 8 April. Whereas candidates who wish to take the exam in the online mode will appear for the same on 15 & 16 April 2018. JEE- Advanced will take place on 20 May 2018.
