Delhi University Reopens for Final Year Students

Delhi University colleges has reopened from today for final year students who want to use college facilities for practical exams. However, the university has informed that college hostels will continue to remain unavailable.

University registrar, Vikas Gupra informed that only final-year students in small batches will be allowed to visit their respective departments/colleges/ laboratory/ practical/skills and other related activities as per the discretion of UG SOPs and guidelines. DU colleges have only reopened for students who want to visit their colleges on a voluntary basis for practical work. Theory classes will be held online.

Different colleges have come up wth different systems of calling students. SRCC has put up a roster of teachers available on different days for practical classes. Whereas Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (DDU) College will conduct all practical classes of one class on one day of the week, while theory classes will be held online only.

Meanwhile, St. Stephen's College has opened its hostel for students in small batches of residents.Principals of Ramjas College and IP College for Women informed that in the absence of directions from the university, hostel facilities cannot be made available.

Miranda House Principal Bijayalaxmi Nanda said that they have made hostels available to students who need the facility for various reasons such as writing exams. They are also planning to make the hostels available for current students who want to return to Delhi for their practicals. However, there are some ground rules such as getting an RT-PCR test before coming, a quarantine period, only single occupancy rooms to be available.
