IITs and IIMs May Soon Be Under the Online Education System
The Central Government is planning to integrate all of the educational institutions into the online education system. Suggestions have been sought from UGC and AICTE on the matter.
The Central Government is considering bringing the complete education system of India online. The government has sought the suggestions of theUniversity Grants Commission (UGC)andAll India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
The final draft of the new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has recently been announced, which plans a complete overhaul of the education system of India. This news also goes on to show that the government is considering big changes to the Indian education system.
TheIndian Institute of Management (IIMs)andIndian Institutes of Technology (IITs)may also be made a part of the education system online. However, students must note that this has not been confirmed by the government.

A panel has been drafted by the government under the leadership of Dr Anil Sahasrabudhe, the Chairman of AICTE, and Dr MP Poonia, the Vice Chairman of UGC. The panel has been entrusted with the task of preparing a blueprint for this plan.
In a letter written to the Vice-Chancellors and Directors of all institutions, Dr Sahasrabudhe has urged them to encourage teachers and students to develop alternate technologies with the motive of making India self-reliant and achieve the goal of becoming Aatma Nirbhar Bharat.
As of now, the PMO and NITI Aayog are waiting for the inputs of UGC and AICTE on this matter before considering any further steps. NEP is already providing anew face to online education in Indiaand this move will further strengthen the government's resolve to push for this system of education.
