TS EAMCET 2018: 95,235 Engineering Seats Up for Grabs in Telangana

The number of engineering seats in Telangana has witnessed an increase this year.JNTU-Hyderabad (Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University)has granted affiliation to 169 colleges that has resulted in an increase in the number of seats inengineering courses. Now,engineering collegesaffiliated to JNTU-H are together offering 84,124 seats inengineering courses.

Apart from JNTU-Hyderabad, 11 engineering colleges affiliated toOsmania Universityand 4 engineering colleges affiliated toKakatiya Universityoffer 6,260 seats and 1,800 seats respectively. In all, all the engineering colleges in Telangana will offer 95,235 seats for the academic session 2018-19.

Out of 95,235 seats in engineering colleges, 30,669 seats come under management quota while 64,566 seats come under convenor/ state quota. JNTU-H, on behalf ofTSCHE, conducts web-counselling process to fill engineering seats under convenor quota. Theadmission counselling processbased onTS EAMCET 2018score began on Monday, May 28, 2018. Candidates can exercise options from the list of colleges available.

Compared to the previous year, the number of colleges that received affiliation was low this year. Since most colleges have fulfilled the norms, there was an increase in the number of engineering seats this year. Most of the college, which lost affiliation for some courses, backed up this year by appointingPh.D. qualified candidatesas faculty.
